Thank you for taking part in Springtime in Shropshire 2019.
The format for the event was changed this year and we would welcome your comments and suggestions to help us continue to make further improvements in the future.
If you didn’t enter – why?
Did the combination of Urban, Long distance and Middle distance events provide an acceptable test of your orienteering skills?
Would a recognised campsite and a social evening add more to your visit to Shropshire?
Does the chance of winning a medal provide a greater incentive to enter the event?
What other changes or additions would help to make the 3 day event more attractive / enjoyable?
If anyone has lost property that they wish to claim from the event on The Wrekin, to use the “contact us” link on the webpage to let the Day 3 organisers know.
By the wonders of mobile networks (and Huawei mobile WiFi router!) the provisional results have been posted from Monstay Farm to the web site here. Andy Johnson has made his photographs available here.
Full results, including uploading to BOF site for rankings and UKOL, UKUL, Winsplits and Routegadget will be made available just as soon as I get home tomorrow evening.
I hope you have all enjoyed SINS2019.
Mike Farrington (HOC) Webmaster and Si team leader.
To give a truly Shropshire feel to this Event, we are sharing the Car Parking and Arena field with the sheep. They may want to lick the salt from your car, but they won’t bother us if we don’t bother them. Please be vigilant about hygiene.
Final details for Day 1 (Shrewsbury Urban) have been updated to Version 2 (24 May 2019). The change is very minor: “Competitors should note that control sites will not have pin punches attached. Should a control not respond competitors should report this at the finish and download.”
There are ongoing road works and barrier repairs taking place on the M54 motorway. Most of the work is taking place overnight. However there may be lane closures on the main carriageway and slip roads which could cause delays to people using the M54 when travelling to and from the event this weekend.
Please check travel updates if you think you may be affected by these road works.
