Monstay Farm is a small certified campsite close to the historic town of Ludlow in the Welsh Marches. Monstay is a traditional working farm set within the beautiful surroundings of the Mortimer Forest, accommodating tents, caravans and motor-homes and with electrical hook up points on site. Those of you who camped at SINS in 2011 and 2013 will be familiar with this site. A new shower block is under construction and will be fully functional for SINS2015.
From the campsite there is easy access to the forest, where a wide variety of wildlife and leisure activities can be found. The site also provides an excellent base for exploring the local area.
“The campsite is tucked away up a very long track and thus away from traffic noise, and consists of two very slightly sloping fields, one with a gorgeous view west to the Cambrian mountains, the other to the south over Mortimer forest. Kids intent on hide-and-seeking, den-building, or just getting away from their parents for a while will delight in the woods adjacent to the site. Off-road cyclists, meanwhile, can take off on the trail that runs through the farm or head for the paths that cross Mortimer forest.” The Guardian, (16/04/11).
